And Yemeni Identity

During the meeting, Dr. Yahya Raja presented an overview of the office's objectives and responsibilities.

Dr. Yahya Raja stated at the meeting that the Akram Al-Jilani Office for Community Development Studies will provide a platform for Yemeni development leaders to develop a vision that keeps pace with the evolving situation regarding Yemen's economy. It will work to build a broad consensus on the most important and urgent policies by engaging and empowering active Yemeni voices in this field. This will ensure the success of economic, developmental, humanitarian, and social interventions during and after the conflict in Yemen, which will, in turn, address the needs and rights of Yemeni citizens and guide Yemen towards lasting peace and development.

Dr. Bashir Ahmed Mufreh stated at the meeting that regular meetings of Yemeni economic and development experts should be held to develop public policy papers and research studies on economic, developmental, humanitarian, and social priorities. He also emphasized the importance of engaging key stakeholders and communicating with the Yemeni public to promote the principles of representation and participation for all segments of Yemeni society.

During the meeting, Professor Fahmi Mohammed Al-Sarari delivered a speech in which he said:

"The Al-Jilani Office should serve as a new development model and a foundation for reconstruction, aiming to build a strong state and a robust society over the next fifteen years. This model should focus on transforming the economy into a productive force capable of generating added value and employment opportunities, while simultaneously developing a more robust and future-ready human capital. Furthermore, it should not overlook the potential for providing opportunities to integrate everyone and strengthen social bonds, while ensuring a renewed reorganization of territorial levels and encouraging their interconnectedness." By accelerating the advanced regionalization process in parallel with effective centralization.

We have reached a stage where hesitation and mistakes are unacceptable. We must find solutions to the problems hindering development in our country. Here, I say that we, as consultants, researchers, and academics, should not be ashamed of the weaknesses and errors that have marred our path. Rather, we must learn from them and use them as lessons to rectify imbalances and correct our course to build a strong economy for our beloved country.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Humairi emphasized:

"Activating the development model is a national responsibility that requires the participation of all energies and competencies. Just as in the preparation phase, we consider the implementation of this model a national responsibility that requires the participation of all the nation's energies and competencies, especially those who will assume governmental and public responsibilities in the coming years."

At the meeting, Dr. Muhi Al-Din Ali Al-Hajj delivered a speech in which he stated:

(This gathering of a select group of academics and researchers at the Akram Al-Jilani Office for Development Studies aims to adopt a development model that embodies a shared aspiration: the transition to a prosperous Yemen—a Yemen of competence, inclusion, and solidarity; a Yemen of sustainability and boldness. He emphasized that this aspiration necessitates mobilizing all the country's resources by placing human capital at the heart of public policy priorities, both as an active participant and a beneficiary of the development process. He affirmed that this aspiration aligns with the urgent expectations expressed by citizens yearning for participation, empowerment, and recognition.)

Finally, all attendees welcomed the opportunity to work as a unified team and strive for the office's success by providing consulting services in development and improving the Yemeni economy.
